Ahead of his Billboard 200 arrival with ‘Purpose,’ Bieber leads the Artist 100 at last in his 71st week on the list.

Justin Bieber is the top musical act in the U.S. for the first time, crowning the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated Nov. 28).

The Artist 100 (which launched in July 2014) measures artist activity across Billboard’s most influential charts, including the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, Top Album Sales and the Social 50. The Artist 100 blends data measuring album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.

Bieber conquers the Artist 100 at last in his 71st week on the list, climbing by 20 percent in overall activity. Social reaction marks his greatest points contributor (42 percent of his sum), as he rises by 78 percent in the metric and leads the Social 50 for a record-extending 122nd week. Digital song sales (25 percent), streaming (20 percent) and radio airplay (13 percent) account for his next-greatest Artist 100 shares.

As previously reported, Bieber’s current single “Sorry” rises 4-3 on the Hot 100 and 3-2 on Digital Songs (153,000, up 18 percent, according to Nielsen Music, good for the Hot 100’s top Digital Gainer trophy).
